PODCAST
Eat, Sleep, Invest
Show Notes
Welcome to Eat, Sleep, Invest, the podcast where we talk with real estate experts to help you get more deals. In this episode, Bryan Driscoll speaks with Angelo Thompson, a real estate investor in Tampa. While working for private colleges, Angelo began a part-time real estate investment business. Now he does this full time and does wholesale, fix and flips, and rental properties.
In about seven years, he built an efficient team and now has more time to spend with his family and church. Angelo explains how he got his start and gives tips for other investors. Bryan and Angelo discuss:
- How Angelo started with a direct mail campaign and bandit signs, taking about 90 days to close the first deal
- How motivated sellers don’t need to be convinced to sell their homes
- How moving to a virtual process allowed the team to make more offers and close more deals
- The process for offering fair prices virtually: gathering information, providing an offer range, and then getting photos and inspections to get a specific price
- The benefits of having a few smaller, more concentrated markets
- Why virtual allows you to scale but only when you have good processes
- Why Angelo made the jump into doing real estate full time
- Tips for building your business while keeping your day job to start
- How creating a business gave Angelo more time freedom
